Freelance Copywriter (Remote) Jobs

About The Position

The Freelance Copywriter is responsible for translating therapeutic information and customer insights into powerful, convincing communications that will be disseminated across various channels. These channels may include print, digital, email and/or social. In this role you will be responsible for creating content for whitepapers, webinars, editorial pitches, email blasts and sponsored content. This role is on an as needed basis. Nights, weekends, and short turnaround times should be expected

Essential Functions

• Collaborates with creative, client services, client operations and extended team members
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Supports the marketing team by simplifying and translating ongoing VMS capabilities and services into compelling communications
• Acts as hands-on copywriter for client projects
• Edit and proofread copy as needed
• Propose concept drafts and present underlying strategic thinking to business leaders
• Keeps up to date with trends in branding, marketing, advertising, and related communication industries
• Ability to translate complex, technical solutions into engaging, compelling copy geared toward a variety of audiences for print and digital
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines
• Follows VMS’ style guide, including editorial standards, and brand tone and voice

Required Education And/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Required License And/or Credential(s)

Required Skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Detail oriented, highly accurate, and strong organizational and customer service skills
• Strong writing skills, including the ability to write in a technical manner
• Experience in content creation, storytelling, print and brand-building
• 5+ years experience copywriting, preferably concentrated in advertising, pharma or healthcare
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Ability to communicate effectively (hear, listen, speak) with or without reasonable accommodations.
