Director, Investment Forecasting and Performance Analysis

American National is actively seeking a Director of Investment Forecasting and Performance Analysis in our high-profile, Investments Department. You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing economic investment trends, effectively communicating important data to all levels of leadership, adapting complex information to your audience, meticulously detailing projected outcomes, and utilizing your expertise to immediately impact organizational goals. To be successful in this role you will have a solid understanding of economics, finance, private capital, sophisticated investments, background in oversight preparation for rating agencies, and be comfortable pivoting as we seek to continually evolve.

Preferred Placement Locations: Houston, League City, or Galveston Texas

What Will You Do?:

• Create, maintain/update performance dashboards at segment and product level
• Oversee the development of commentary on results vs. comparative time periods and categories (e.g., Actual vs. Budget Forecast)
• Ability to successfully lead teams
• Investment forecasting and analysis: Review and oversight of investment forecast data, providing guidance
• Partner with Corporate Planning and the Actuarial Department to create and maintain investment summaries/analyses for communication to senior leaders

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
• Investment experience (accounting, valuation, transacting, asset classes, securitization, etc.)
• Successful leadership skills demonstrated
• Proficiency in Excel
• Financial or Insurance industry work experience preferred

• Understanding of spread based business and relationships of macro-economic factors to outcomes / how this impacts the portfolio
• Financial systems knowledge (BPC / SAP / CAMRA/Workiva)
• Data visualization experience
• Ability to efficiently identify issues, condense into components and provide guidance to analysts on how to rectify
• Series 7 licensing
