Football Research Analyst Jobs

This is a full-time position based out of the Hoag Performance Center in Costa Mesa, California. The analyst will work in the Football Research group and be responsible for projects relating to Coaching, Player Personnel, and Sports Performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Create and maintain department tools and datasets

2. Collaborate with staff to design and perform statistical analysis (prospect projection, play value, etc.)

3. Analyze player tracking data and help integrate it into department processes

4. Chart various activities during practice and games

5. Assist with self-scout and opponent scout activities in season

6. Present project results to key stakeholders

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (economics, statistic, computer science, etc.), or relevant job experience

• Knowledge of NFL rules and current football research

• Experience working with NFL tracking data, tracking data from another sport, or similar spatiotemporal data

• Experience with tools relevant to performing statistical analysis (R, Python, SQL, etc.)

• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively present project findings

• Ability to generate visualizations for effective presentations (Tableau, PowerBI, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Ability to plan, organize, and complete projects in a timely manner
