Position Summary for Quality Assurance Supervisor/ QA Supervisor

Executes established QA programs. Implements and monitors company programs involving product quality, food safety, and overall sanitation of facility. Supervises retort operation and assures retorts operate properly.


Positions Responsibilities for Quality Assurance Supervisor - Canning Plant / Pouch Line:

  • Correct for thermal process deviations.
  • Crider, Inc. requires all employees to comply with and support all Food Safety and Quality policies, programs, and procedures to ensure our products meet and exceed consumers’ expectations.
  • MOD coverage for QA
  • Assure food safety through the implementation and monitoring of plant programs.
  • Maintains open communication with USDA and plant management.
  • Serve as liaison with local USDA personnel.
  • Maintain a Skills Matrix for the team members.
  • Develop team skills and delegate for effectiveness.
  • Publish and proactively manage BCP: Business continuity matrix for team.
  • Answers NRs
  • Supervises QA technicians in execution of QA programs.
  • Maintain process records.
  • Maintains product information book.
  • Assures sanitation program complies with company and USDA requirements.
  • Implement and maintain quality programs (HACCP; PQC; vendor certification; raw material; recall; hold; thermal process review; pre-shipment review and release; pest control


KPI for Quality Assurance Supervisor/ QA Supervisor:

  • Daily Attainment of CPM (Canning) / Lbs. (Cook) targets against bottleneck
  • Zero Quality Incidents
  • SQF Score
  • Complaint investigation cycle time
  • Count of Customer Complaints
  • Minimize DT below 5% each day (Combined operational & machine)
  • Recall Count
  • Missed QA issue on the line.
  • Training Compliance
  • Labor Hours use efficiency.
  • Count of food safety
  • Zero safety incidents
  • PCR Compliance
  • Count of Regulatory Non-Compliance
  • SQF, Halal, Organic & Food Defense recertification


Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management
  • Ability to apply mathematical operation to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of a variety of data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • B.S. degree in food science, microbiology, poultry or meat science, animal science or equivalent of 6-8 years’ experience or training in the food industry

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk and sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job. The employee is also regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment fluctuates from quiet to loud.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
