Job Description
Job Title: Food Safety Consultant (Food Manufacturing)
Job Overview:
As a Food Safety Consultant for our consulting company, you will play a critical role in assisting our lead consultants that take lead with our clients to ensure that their food products are produced and handled in compliance with current food safety regulations and industry best practices. Your expertise in food safety and your ability to provide guidance and support to our team will be essential to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and audits of all manufacturing processes, facilities, and equipment to identify any potential risks or non-compliance with food safety regulations.
- Develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and protocols for maintaining the highest standards of food safety throughout the manufacturing process.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing food safety programs, recommending necessary improvements or modifications as needed.
- Provide regular training and educational sessions to manufacturing staff to ensure their understanding of food safety protocols, including proper handling and sanitation procedures.
- Stay informed about the latest food safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices, and ensure that all manufacturing operations are updated and compliant.
- Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analysis for any reported incidents or food safety concerns, taking appropriate corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, production, and maintenance, to enhance food safety practices throughout the organization.
- Advise on any potential risks and opportunities for improvement in food safety processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in food safety management within the food manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, GFSI, and HACCP.
- Strong understanding of industry-specific manufacturing processes and operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively identify and address potential food safety risks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging food safety trends, technologies, and advancements.
- Proficient in using computer software applications for data analysis and report generation.
