What is the Opportunity?


The Fin-Tech Partnership Vice President for US Cash Management will have accountability for the development of external partnerships for RBC’s new Cash Management business. The development of partnerships will be a critical building block in the cash management offering and will be needed for the go-to-market strategy to be executed in a timely fashion. This role will be responsible for identifying, fostering, structuring, and executing partnerships. This role will report to the Director of Business Insights and External Partnerships and will need to liaise across many other verticals such as product, compliance, sales, and technology. It will also play a strategic part in our product roadmap of the future.


What will you do?
  • Structure, negotiate, and execute deals
  • Synthesize findings from across various clients and sub-sectors to develop a thesis on the future of money movement that can inform fintech BD strategy, product development, and larger conversations on industry evolution
  • Identify and drive use cases to diversify revenue concentration and build and launch best practices for approach to global deals and account management
  • Identify and develop new fintech partnerships and relationships that will create value for our new stack of cash management solutions and drive C-Suite engagement to drive step function growth
  • Work with our cross-functional partners to structure acceptable deals terms (e.g., Legal)
  • Draw upon experience in business development and payments to identify potential deals, develop the tactics and manage the teams, process and programs needed to bring them to fruition
  • Solution / recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to grow clients’ businesses
  • Continuously review market landscape, identifying commercial deal opportunities across partners, start-ups and industry players that will position RBC as a world-class market leader
  • Lead the deal pipeline for new fintech partners and venture activities
  • Work across the cash management organization to ensure that deals align with product offerings and pricing strategies


People Leadership & Collaboration


  • Maintains effective relationships and routines with business leaders and program/initiative teams
  • Collaborates cross-functionally across Cash Management team and our functional partners to ensure successful implementation of new partnerships


What do you need to succeed?


  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in related field; 7-12 years experience, with 3 years in people management.
  • High levels of learning agility with a real interest in the fintech ecosystem and a ‘technology / digital-first’ approach
  • Excellent listening and communication skills (both verbal and written), and executive presence
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way to influence and drive adoption
  • Financial/payment industry knowledge required
  • Experienced business development professional and financial services/technology sector expert who can identify potential deals and develop the tactics, teams, processes and programs needed to bring those deals to fruition
  • Demonstrated skill in gaining credibility with and respect of high-performing leaders within and outside the organization
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue acceleration with new product offerings
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results
  • Should be an excellent, creative thinker and problem solver
  • Ability to inspire and influence others without direct management responsibility
  • Experience cultivating deep partnerships with current and potential internal/external partners. Understands the payments and financial services industries and can link client needs to opportunities for future service developments or enhancements
  • Diversity of thought and experience as well as a desire to continually seek new perspectives and feedback, take an inclusive approach, and engage diverse points of view
  • Ability to influence/operate effectively across a matrixed organization (functions & geography) to drive positive outcomes

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $150,000-$200,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
