THE POSITION
Responsible for growing the sales of Fine Wine brands in Southeast US. Must be located in a major market within the region, preferably Atlanta. This territory covers GA, AL, DC, FL, KY, MD, NC, SC, TN and VA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure pricing and budget is maintained under state leadership
- Communicate with Distributor Sales Managers and Branch level on behalf of the Fine Wine Portfolio
- Provide brand education to distributor teams, customers and trade
- Drive distribution growth in top independent retail accounts
- Drive marketing campaign awareness within distributors – On/Off Premise
- Develop and Maintain target account lists to grow the portfolio within designated territory
- Manage distributors and key accounts to achieve state goals in depletion and points of distribution
- Gain new points of distribution on-premise, including independent and regional accounts
- Effectively communicate Riboli priorities to accounts and distributors
- Serve as Fine Wine expert
- Work collaboratively with teammates throughout multi-state region
- Develop annual business plan and targets for fine wine brands in focus market/state in collaboration with state leadership
- Drive distributor execution of marketing programs across relevant channels
- Work independently and partner with Distributor teams to promote our Fine Wine brands
SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set monthly and annual distributor priorities and goals in conjunction with RM
- Create and introduce brand programs and strategies (with support from marketing)
- Cultivate cross department relationships within the company, especially between sales and marketing
- Take active role in assessing distributor performance (along with Region Manager)
- Take active role with annual plan in consultation with distributor (along with RM)
PARAMETERS FOR SUCCESS
Education, Experience and Skills
- Ability to educate and engage customers and distributors to increase brand awareness
- Ability to interpret data effectively and employ fact-based selling
- Ability to form strong relationships with distributor team – both at HQ and among field sales managers
- Ability to effectively leverage internal resources, e.g., marketing, analytics
- Develop and leverage marketing programs to drive brand success
- Strong distributor management skills including:
- Utilize a fact-based approach in reporting targets and recaps
- Provide accurate business intelligence including forecasts, market trends and facts
- Ensure targets for state/region are met
- Ability to work with and leverage winery marketing team resources
- Form strong working relationship with Riboli State Teams within specified region (including RMs, DMs, National Accounts and Regional Accounts teams)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
You are passionate about wine and building brands. You are constantly curious, considering projects with both an analytical and creative approach; you can multitask and pivot quickly while working in a fast-paced environment. Keen organizational skills and a strong attention to detail are keys to your success. You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral; proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel. Your collaborative and energetic work style and can-do spirit are your trademarks.
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- 5+ years of sales experience in the wine industry
- Estimated 50% Travel Requirement
- CSW or WSET Level 2 preferred
