Financial Operating Analyst - Operating Company Oversight

The Position:

The Financial Operating Analyst will closely collaborate with Operating Partners and members of a dynamic private equity investment team in the New York City office to monitor performance of Z Capital Group (“ZCG”) portfolio companies. This role will report to the Consulting Partner – Strategic Finance and offers the strong potential for rotation into a position as an operator with a portfolio company over time or with the ZCG operating team within ZCG Consulting (“ZCGC”).

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with portfolio companies to obtain weekly financial reports an operating KPIs and monitor on a timely basis

· Consolidating and reporting portfolio financial performance on a weekly basis for review by the Investment and Operating Partner teams

· Analyze weekly financial reports for unusual matters and trends, proactively follow up with management teams as necessary, and review findings with investment/operating teams to assist in the development of action plans

· Support investment/operating teams in executing both portfolio-wide and portfolio company-specific strategic initiatives

· Continuously evaluating processes and procedures, implementing best practices where applicable

· Working with affiliate data analysis resources to design and execute automation of weekly KPI reporting

· Oversee the development of board reports to ensure consistency and value-added content

· Manage portfolio company budgets and five-year projections, ensuring timely review, approval, and submission to ZCG’s internal reporting team

Requirements:

· 2-4 years of experience as a financial analyst, with a preference for direct experience and/or consulting for middle-market Private Equity firms

· Strong background in financial reporting and financial analysis

· Superior analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including direct financial modeling experience and other Microsoft Office suites applications

· Data analysis skills using Power BI, Tableau or similar a plus

· Ability to work independently

· Detail oriented, hardworking, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.

· Willingness to travel as required

Expected base salary range (based on experience): $80,000 - $110,000
