Roles & Responsibilities:


Responsible for patient care and support activities as assigned, including care of scrub areas and clean utility rooms, decontamination of surgical equipment, care of instruments and supplies, transportation of blood/specimens, and care and transportation of patients.
  • Distribute processed instrument sets, equipment and supplies in appropriate work and storage area.
  • Replenish and arrange neatly scrub brushes, hoods, caps, masks and booties.
  • Maintain and change gas cylinders.
  • Monitors par levels and replenishes stock.
  • Care of Scrub Areas and Clean Utility Rooms
  • Maintain solution and warmer cabinets.
  • Check and record temperature of medication and nourishment daily.
  • Maintain blood bank and drug refrigerators
  • Maintain cleanliness of shelves, work counters and utility carts.
  • Check and replenish stock levels of specimen containers, disinfecting solutions, plastic bags, cleaning supplies etc.
Requirements:
  • Visual and aural acuity to assess patient within parameters of job responsibilities.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical stamina, manual dexterity to perform a variety of tasks and skills in area of assignment.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner.
  • Oriented to consumer satisfaction.
  • Experience: Prefer relevant experience in an inpatient health care setting.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $22.96 - $24.22 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
