Summary: Our growing $50B+ Retail client is seeking a Financial Data Analyst to join their IT Project Finance team! This company is structured for innovation and is hiring someone to help with implementing new technologies and procedures. As a Project Financial Data Analyst in this newly created role, you will help shape the financial data modeling across the corporation through cost analysis within IT, project valuation, data analytics, and documentation and deliverable creation.

Opportunity: 6-12 Months Contract-to-Hire

Compensation:

• $100,000 - $110,000 once converted permanent
• $50 to $55 per hour on contract (with benefits!)

Description:

• Participate in forecasting and project planning, specifically for scope/requirements documents and vendor contracts, mitigating risk and ensuring on-time, cost-effective delivery of solutions.
• Maintain project costs and communicate with Project Managers
• Evaluate the roadmap to determine if they need to grow to bring value to the company
• Analyze existing systems targeted for replacement or enhancement to determine cost impacts
• Analyze business needs to outline business and technical requirements, identify impacted areas, systems, or processes, and evaluate alternative solutions to meet these requirements
• Lead data modeling initiatives for project value comparison, using analytical skills to drive decision-making and strategic planning
• Lead gathering and documentation of requirements through systematic process
• Develop and implement data-driven business and cost models for solution enhancements, aiming to optimize financial processes
• Review design documents with strong attention to detail, ensuring clarity in work expectations to promote efficiency in execution
• Help develop a new framework and financial model to evaluate the benefits of each product and work closely with Product owners to evaluate value of products
• Design, develop, document, test, and support modifications of forward-thinking technology solutions within Agile framework, focusing on financial processes
• Prepare extensive technical documentation and deliverables, including flow charts, models, procedures, user guides, scorecards, and reports
• Perform budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for projects

Requirements:

• Experienced with Agile methodology is a plus
• Experience initiating and implementing process improvements
• Data Analytics experience, including financial data modeling, complex spreadsheets, building dashboards, etc.
• Inquisitive individual who will question the status quo and dig deeper to find answers
• Must have experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
• 8+ years Project Financial Analysis/Budgeting experience
• Must have Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to understand of the components of cost relating to products/projects
