Finance Director - Series A Food Tech

This opportunity is to work for a rapidly growing Series A, infants food brand. They’ve found a huge whitespace in the market and have generated a lot of attention given their revolutionary products.

This is an exciting time to be joining the company as they’ve just closed a $11M dollar series A from a leading, consumer focused VC firm

Your New Role

This will be the company’s first Finance hire and you will work in partnership with their CEO whilst being responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company. You’ll be responsible for leading the financial and accounting team at Amara for everything from the day-to-day operations to long-term forecasting and strategy. You come with experience in high growth consumer products and are excited to apply what you’ve learned in a fast-growing startup that’s bringing something truly innovative in the category.

Responsibilities

• Ability to forecast potential issues and provide management strategies to mitigate business risks
• Establishing standard operating procedures that will provide strong foundations for fast past growth
• Providing leadership, direction and management of finance and accounting team
• Financial planning and analysis
• Monitoring deductions and collections, following up if needed
• Monthly closes and financial reports to investors
• Generating financial and budgeting reports: including cash flow, balance and PnL on a monthly basis to investors
• Managing controller and overall integrity of finance/accounting system (QBO)
• Bi-weekly calls with CEO to provide strategic recommendations

Requirements

• Individually motivated and disciplined, expected to own and perform without constant monitoring
• At least 5-7 years experience in high growth consumer products, preferably with high growth consumer food products
• Ability to think strategically and roll up sleeves to nuts and bolts
