Position Summary


Reporting to the VP, Business Finance, you will own revenue analytics and all commercial finance processes and reviews including consolidation of global revenue, commercial OpEx and CapEx. Being in the unique position to interact and see information from all the regions, you would be expected to bring the Global revenue story together, including risks and upsides. In addition, you will provide an independent view on Global revenue. You will lead and develop advanced analytic capabilities to provide deep revenue insights and accelerate commercial functions data-driven decision making.


With commercial finance part of your team, you will lead the revenue budget, strategy plan, forecast and projection processes by working closely with regional and corporate teams. You will be expected to monitor progress to our revenue commitments and proactively share actions needed to fill any shortfalls. Team will also own consolidated commercial OpEx and CapEx. This will require helping CCO and VP Finance to allocate resources and dollars that drive maximum growth and help us deliver our commercial strategic plan. In addition to this you will provide direct business partnership support to Global Sales Ops, Commercial Analytics, Commercial strategy and Investor Relations.


As Business Insights leader you will be focused on providing revenue related insights and analysis. You and your team will work closely with business partners to understand their business questions, perform data analysis to find answers, and translate the analysis into compelling insights for the leadership team. The successful candidate will drive the scale out and sustainability of the enterprise analytics environment, support forecasting and budget processes, as well as perform other business partnering and decision-support activities.


As a leader of Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics team in Finance you will be responsible for defining and executing next generation analytics strategy and roadmap. You and your team will deliver complex analytical solutions and evolve the analytics landscape from predictive to prescriptive analytics. You will also actively collaborate with the Finance, commercial , product management and Marketing teams to build business insights to enable strategic decision making using both structured and unstructured data. Your team will partner with data engineering teams and SMEs to build robust and scalable predictive models and help identify opportunities and risks within the business model.


You will also be responsible for enhancing and managing the current predictive models that provide global sales forecast used by commercial organization, finance, and executive leadership teams to evaluate their bottoms up forecast.


You will be responsible to lead a team of finance, business insights, data science and machine learning professionals. You will have a successful track record of building/managing teams that collaborate with business partners to understand business needs and provide required information and insights to enable informed decision making.


Responsibilities


  • Co-lead the long-term revenue part of strategic planning process in collaboration with Corporate Planning, Marketing Analytics, Product Management, GMs, and Regional Finance.
  • Oversee end -to-end deployment of machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through feature engineering, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise and relevant information to enable strong business decisions.
  • Inspire, lead, and grow our team, embodying our company culture and values.
  • When experiencing supply constraints, own the allocation process that is fair and maximizes revenue potential for the company.
  • Leverage diagnostic and advanced statistical analytics techniques to design and answer complex business questions.
  • Regular, proactive, and transparent communication to the VP Commercial Finance, CCO and Executive Leadership team.
  • Lead the Data Science team to deliver world class predictive models to support financial forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Recruit/Retain top talent and mentor team members to reach their potential.
  • Provide insights and analytics support to Investor Relation for earnings, JP Morgan, & Investor Day.
  • Proactively identify business risks or opportunities and engage with business partners to determine impact to the business.
  • Provide finance and business leadership to meet both short-term and long-term revenue goals.
  • Provide peer company, industry, customer and competitor analysis to help manage our business and to respond to industry issues and concerns on a timely basis.
  • Manage quarterly executive business reviews in collaboration with the regions and Marketing organization.
  • Continue to up-level commercial org from hypothesis-based to predictive analytics and modeling, driving better decision making and freeing commercial teams to be more customer focused.
  • Provide strategic thought partnership to the commercial leadership team on revenue growth opportunities.
  • Drive improvements to the revenue budget and forecast processes to ensure forecast accuracy and process efficiency.
  • As a leader in the finance org, own and drive a Global Project that benefits the broader finance organization.
  • Manage global commercial OpEx and CapEx to drive the right spend and investment strategy for the commercial organization.
  • Provide ongoing training and insights to enhance financial acumen of the wider Commercial team.


Requirements


  • Deep knowledge of statistics, and predictive modeling, with proven experience translating big data into actionable outcomes is a plus
  • Demonstrated management capabilities including team leadership, budget management and driving quality outcomes
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible finance experience, including 12+ years in a management capacity in a global organization
  • Proven ability to evaluate the strategic implications of different business approaches and resolve complex arrangements
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams to achieve objectives
  • Life sciences, diagnostics and/or healthcare industry experience is an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills with keen business acumen and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated success with business partnering and influencing the decision-making of Executive Leadership
  • Track record of successfully delivering results across organizational boundaries. Proven ability to establish and leverage credibility and rapport with peers and senior executives
  • Balance of strategic skills and the ability to execute
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)


Education


  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred


The estimated base salary range for the Sr. Director, Finance role based in the United States of America is: $197,200 - $295,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
