Standard BioTools is looking for motivated Field Service Engineer to deliver exceptional service across Standard BioTools’ portfolio of products in Mass Cytometry systems, serving as the primary customer contact on technical and service-related issues.
He/she must be able to troubleshoot complex problems within an operational interplay of software, hardware, and chemistry. He/she must be committed to total customer satisfaction, with the ability to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and solid judgment. A team player is essential as this position will have a great degree of overlap with various interdisciplinary groups within the organization.
This position is a field-based regional position, but travel throughout North America is to be expected.
Preferred location: Massachusetts or within a 2 hours drive of the area.
Description:
- Good initiative, critical thinker, self motivated and willing to learn.
- Salesforce familiarity a plus.
- Good customer facing skills
- Good working knowledge of optical, electrical and mechanical sub-systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Technical support/Field service experience, especially related to ICP-MS, a plus.
- Prior work with Life Science instrumentation, or any other Laboratory Capital Equipment a plus.
- Expertise in employing root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- BS in Science or Engineering discipline with some (preferably 2 years) of industry experience in the service and/or support of analytical instruments and/or combination of experience and education/training.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Vacuum system experience (ultra-high vacuum systems) a plus.
- Prior work with Life Science instrumentation, or any other Laboratory Capital Equipment a plus.
- Substantial working knowledge of optical, electrical and mechanical sub-systems.
- BS in Science or Engineering discipline with 2 years of industry experience in the service and/or support of analytical instruments and/or combination of experience and education/training.
- ServiceMax familiarity a plus.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Good initiative, critical thinker, self motivated and willing to learn.
- Mass Spec experience a plus.
- Preventive Maintenance, any other repairs.
- Good customer facing skills.
- Technical support/service experience a plus.
- Understanding of physics a plus.
- Expertise in employing root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Experience with using oscilloscope and multimeter a plus.
