Job Description

The Family Engagement Coordinator will be the key liaison to pediatric cancer families, developing and maintaining relationships to increase engagement with Children’s Cancer Research Fund and support storytelling needs. This position will also be responsible for creating awareness among families and ensuring positive associations with the CCRF brand are maintained and, where possible, built on. The Family Engagement Coordinator will determine the most beneficial engagement and fundraising opportunities for each family or group, and work with others in the organization on implementation.


Responsibilities

  • Implement stewardship of families through regular communication and recognition activities
  • Maintain up-to-date interactions tracking and data related to pediatric cancer families in Salesforce
  • Work with Family Programs Manager to meet budget objectives
  • Work cross-functionally to manage family ambassador content gathering for organizational storytelling needs, including, but not limited to, blog interviews, newsletters, direct marketing, event ambassadors, family-centered campaigns/events and social media
  • Engage with pediatric cancer families through in-person or virtual meetings, serving as their relationship manager to CCRF, with the goal of amplifying their voices through authentic story sharing and connecting them with other opportunities for involvement
  • With the Family Programs Manager and Director of Mission, identify new opportunities for pediatric cancer family introductions and engagement
  • Ensure community content and messaging is consistent with the brand
  • Collaborate with Engagement team members to support family participation in DIY fundraising, event and volunteer initiative

  • Ability to effectively manage priorities and work in a self-directed manner
  • Demonstrate good judgment and diplomacy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all constituent information
  • Exhibits creative problem-solving skills and flexibility
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the experience of families who have received a pediatric cancer diagnosis and/or a deep personal connection to pediatric cancer
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion for, and foster relationships with, people experiencing childhood cancer.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in community management, outreach or closely related field
  • Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Nonprofit experience (preferred)
