Status: Exempt (Salaried)
Position Summary

The Expeditor reports to the Supply Chain Manager and assists the Buyers with the expediting of Purchase Orders (PO’s). The Expeditor will support the Supply Chain Manager and the Buyers in the development and maintenance of the Procurement Plan. The ideal candidate for this role must be a diligent and thorough task executor who can effectively manage multiple priorities with clarity and focus. The Expeditor role must establish very strong and mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and internal customers and therefore requires dynamic interpersonal skills. A successful Expeditor will exhibit tenacity in driving issue resolution, timely and accurate transactional work, outstanding cross-functional collaboration, proactive communication skills, continuous improvement mindset, and unwavering follow-up to ensure completion of critical tasks and projects with the ability to use tools given.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicate daily on-time delivery and receipt information, driving reduction in backlog and shortage files, improving stockout status.
  • Work with Logistics on inbound shipping documentations to ensure accuracy
  • Create work instructions and SOPs for dynamic role as it evolves.
  • Identify shortages, PO discrepancies, working with Buyers/Receivers/Suppliers to resolve.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Own and keep current PO Discrepancy, Request for Information reports/databases from a Sourcing perspective.
  • Timely escalation of issues as situations dictates.
  • Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships; Sourcing Personnel, Planners, Suppliers, Materials, Logistics, and Accounts Payable communicating regularly to maintain an understanding of timelines and activities which impact supply chain.
  • Collection and distribution of documentation (Transportation, Customs, A/P) that corresponds with fulfillment.
  • Work with Supply chain to resolve issues with delivery delays or shortages.
  • Support PO activities related to Purchasing/Supply Chain order fulfillment, execution, and payment functions.
  • Drive daily what’s hot list, funneling systemic issues to appropriate parties.
  • Compile, and publish routine, relevant performance, and delivery metrics.
  • Monitor and coordinate QCR resolution with Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, and integrated supply chain.
  • Attend Sourcing, Logistics, Material, Planning, and NPI status meetings either on site or via electronic media in a hybrid role across multiple locations.
  • Travel to local suppliers, warehouse locations as necessary to expedite parts delivery.
  • Support the Production Manager and Production Leads, as necessary, to expedite equipment orders, vendor documents, and free issued materials (FIM).
  • Understand issue root causes and address with appropriate parties for action.
  • Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.
  • Support package and project execution with expediting vendor documentation and deliverables.
  • Perform transactional duties including daily PO list, both supplier and purchase order (PO) follow-up and expediting.
  • Support the Production Manager and Production Leads, as necessary, with the Production Plan and Logistics Plan.
  • Identify and follow-up on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager and the Buyers in the development and maintenance of the Procurement Plan and the Logistics Plan.
Education and Experience
  • 2-4 years or more of Purchasing, Logistics, Materials, or related experience; experience within Supply Chain setting is highly preferred.
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a supreme commitment to quality

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including highly developed skills within Excel
  • Demonstrated problem solving, issue resolution, analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Associate degree in supply chain management, business, or relevant field of study; will consider experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Must be capable of working independently, in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage projects and multi-task effectively
Pay Rate:
$52,250.00 - $78,375.00
