The role of Executive Vice President and CTO:

As Executive Vice President and CTO you will be a big part of the Automotive Engineering Groups strategic leadership team. You will hold responsibility for leading 250+ strong engineering business and be tasked with growth, as well as driving technology development and delivery on programs. This position is highly visible and would work directly with the President of Americas, as well as supporting various SVPs and other sector group CTOs. The Executive Vice President and CTO will lead the group in technology advancements, planning, strategy and organizational alignment. The group is responsible for new product innovation and introduction to the markets. In this role you will also:

• Lead and develop a best-in-class team.
• Lead and build organizational capability, identify new spaces and ways to improve and enrich our product offerings.
• Lead key customer relationships in the commercial and/or passenger vehicle industry.
• Lead and drive the success of a global team in a highly matrixed environment.
• Innovate and lead technical programs from conceptualization to commercialization.
• Through methodical measures, achieve Engineering Functional Excellence, and best-in-class performance, by driving continuous improvement initiatives in all facets of the engineering function.
• Act as a key partner in building and maintaining customer relationships, providing deep knowledge, and understanding of the market and relevant applications in the commercial and/or passenger vehicle industry.
• Develop followership and connect leadership and employees to the technology vision.
• Drive a strong linkage and collaboration between design and manufacturing.
• As an industry expert, monitor regulatory changes and leverage government funding in resource planning.

Qualifications for the Executive Vice President and CTO :

• Bachelor’s or Masters (Preferred) Degree in Engineering
• Experience with digital product development – automation, integration, virtual twins, digital validation, performance measurement
• You should possess 20+ years of broad-based technology and engineering experience with demonstration of increasing levels of responsibilities
• Strong experience leading an engineering organization of 200+ professionals in a global and highly matrixed automotive industry focused businesses
• Expertise in component and system-level applications in vehicle electrification programs
• Excellent system level knowledge of cars, commercial vehicle, mechanical and electrical/electronic systems
• Demonstratable experience within electronic connected systems development
• Cross-functional engineering experience: launch execution, innovation, CoE and/or research lab
• 10+ years of commercial focused experience, leading and delivering the technology roadmap of a $billion+ revenue business within the automotive domain
