Job Description
Because of His Love Outreach is a passionate and dedicated nonprofit organization committed to loving every person, bringing hope to every situation, and empowering the next generation! We do this by providing home visiting supportive services to families in the Metro Detroit family. Educating pregnant women, their infants, other caregivers on life saving skills that reduces the rate of maternal and infant mortality, which is one of the highest in Detroit.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Treasurer. This volunteer position plays a vital role in our organization, ensuring the responsible management of our financial resources.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the financial activities of the organization, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts payable/receivable.
Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors and provide regular updates on the organization's financial health.
Collaborate with board members to develop financial policies and strategies.
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the organization's financial stability.
Prepare and file necessary financial documents and reports with relevant government authorities.
Assist with fundraising efforts and grant applications, providing financial data as required.
Participate in regular board meetings and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or substantial experience in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred).
Previous experience as a treasurer, accountant, or financial manager.
Knowledge of nonprofit financial management and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
