Job Description
  • Work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, class and language backgrounds and navigate conflicts around race, ethnicity, religion, class, and language in a safe and productive manner; assess and evaluate program and policy effectiveness based on information, evidence and data;
  • A wide range of effective school concepts and principles, as well as instructional programs that support both district and individual school objectives using culturally relevant teaching practices that provide for equitable outcomes; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with those encountered throughout the course of work;
  • Communicating clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with diverse staff and students/families;
  • Experience developing, leading, and carrying out multi-year strategic plans at the building/department or District level Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (May be acquired through education, training, and/or experience)
  • Data analysis tools and methods used to identify trends and standard performance in various programs.
  • Leading and applying equity and inclusion principles to transform organizational culture;
  • Serve as an engaging change agent by dismantling barriers to success for traditionally marginalized students and staff; develop and oversee the District’s equity and inclusion efforts and to provide leadership in pursuit of the goals and initiatives of the District;
  • Organize work and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner;
  • Experience leading and applying equity principles to transform institutional culture
  • Ability to:

    • Disrupt practices in the District that perpetuate systemic disparities in access and achievement for historically marginalized students;
    • establish and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment and working relationships with students, staff, families and community members;
    • work effectively with and respond to people from diverse cultural backgrounds;
    • serve as an engaging change agent by dismantling barriers to success for traditionally marginalized students and staff; develop and oversee the District’s equity and inclusion efforts and to provide leadership in pursuit of the goals and initiatives of the District;
    • build staff and administrator capacity to plan and implement programs and create ownership at the individual school/department level by utilizing effective communication and assessment measures to address antiracist practices;
    • work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, class and language backgrounds and navigate conflicts around race, ethnicity, religion, class, and language in a safe and productive manner; assess and evaluate program and policy effectiveness based on information, evidence and data;
    • bring change through anticipating problems, meeting needs, and sharing decision making, while working effectively as a member of the district team; exhibit patience and empathy towards employees;
    • organize work and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner;
    • work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities;
    • maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion, initiative and good judgment;
    • learn and use a variety of technologies and software programs.

    • elevating voices of historically marginalized groups; identifying opportunity gaps and barriers to achieving equity and inclusion and advancing culturally sustaining environments internally and externally; advancing equity and inclusion work in the midst of changing demographics; providing culturally proficient leadership through work with individuals, groups and programs; application of federal and state laws associated with equity and inclusion;
    • data analysis tools and methods used to identify trends and standard performance in various programs.
  • Work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities;
  • Education/Experience Master’s Degree in a field related to the duties and responsibilities of the position AND Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this position
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with community agencies
  • Bring change through anticipating problems, meeting needs, and sharing decision making, while working effectively as a member of the district team; exhibit patience and empathy towards employees;
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching experience Experience developing and delivering equity and inclusion professional development
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or district-approved religious or medical exemption
  • Master’s Degree with an emphasis in Education and/or Teaching Bilingual and/or biliterate (Spanish preferred)
  • Learn and use a variety of technologies and software programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion, initiative and good judgment;
  • Work effectively with and respond to people from diverse cultural backgrounds;
