DAC is excitedly and currently seeking an Executive Director (ED) to join our administrative team.

The Executive Director serves as a chief spokesperson and represents DAC throughout the community.The Executive Director encourages partnerships and collaborations that advance the mission of DAC, while providing the best possible educational and artistic experience for DAC families.As the primary “face” of DAC to the community, the Executive Director establishes and maintains a strong public relations image and will join in championing our efforts in Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Accessibility.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable for all aspects of the organization, including planning, operations, budgeting, financial management, fund raising, marketing, public relations and community engagement.
  • Leads, manages, plans, implements and monitors all aspects of DAC, a provider of school and outreach programs for the visual and performing arts.
  • Assures that the Board and its committees have the information they need to work effectively on behalf of the organization.
  • Provides impetus and support for the Board of Directors, participating with the Board in developing the organization’s vision and strategic plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Recruits, hires, motivates, supervises, evaluates, and provides leadership to a high caliber professional staff and the contractually engaged teaching artists.
  • Provides effective leadership and management of DAC’s human and financial resources consistent with the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors to achieve DAC’s mission and vision.
  • Develops and maintains an environment that nurtures the talents of the students who participate in DAC programs.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Master’s degree and/or non-profit management certification is an added benefit.

Experience:

  • Requires at least 5 years of proven success in a senior management or executive role of a non-profit music or arts organization.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.

Baseline Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience working with the community as an advocate for arts education and as an enthusiastic fundraiser.
  • Musical performance experience is considered an asset and highly valued.
  • Deep commitment to music, visual and performing arts education.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, including financial management experience and demonstrated business accumen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive preferred.
  • Able to travel from time to time both locally and otherwise as needed.

Salary and Benefits:

  • The organization also provides this position with 10 accrued days of PTO, 3 days of unaccrued PTO, and 10 paid holidays, as well as an option to participate in a 401K program.
  • Select opportunities for professional development and training.
  • This position will receivesemi-monthly payments to total $50,000 - $75,000 per year, which may include possible living arrangements onsite.
