Job Description
At Denali Family Services we serve children who require intensive behavioral health care services and support for their families. Denali Family Services offers individual, family and group psychotherapy services in combination with intensive care coordination and individualized support across many settings.

Executive Assistant position provides high-level administrative support to the President/CEO and Board of Directors. The incumbent will also be responsible for other strategic administrative operations such as managing grants, donor/volunteer relationships, marketing, communications and planning agency functions and events.


This position is responsible for observing policies, procedures, and safeguards to protect the privacy of health information in compliance with the HIPAA Privacy (Privacy Rule).


Essential Functions


  • Arrange for travel and accommodations for the President/CEO and other members of the leadership team.
  • Schedule President/CEO meetings and appointments.
  • Arrange all logistics for executive-level meetings and functions.
  • Filter and distribute communication for President/CEO
  • Attend meetings, take minutes or notes, and distribute to appropriate parties.
  • Under the direction of the President/CEO support the organization's grant strategy by conducting research, communicating available funding and grant requirements to leadership team, and ensuring timely submission of applications and grant reports.
  • Produce, distribute and file board reports, executive correspondence and various presentations.


Other Duties & Responsibilities


  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Under the direction of the President/CEO coordinate fundraising efforts, manage donor and volunteer relationships, manage social media and other strategic communications and marketing, and support the planning of successful DFS events.


Position Requirements


High school diploma plus four years of related experience required.


Bachelor's degree in business administration, human services, or related field


Preferred. Prior Experience Researching And Applying For Grants Preferred.


Will consider combination of education and experience.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new or updated software.
  • Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and recordkeeping systems.
  • Ability to ensure consumer and employee confidentiality as prescribed by agency policy and federal law.
  • Ability to format and edit professional documents.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English.
  • Ability to learn and follow all agency protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to pass a State and FBI background check in accordance with the State of Alaska Background Check Unit.
  • Ability to maintain positive professional working relationships and to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to act decisively and with fairness.


Physical Requirements: Ability to perform sedentary work. Visual acuity necessary to utilize a computer monitor throughout the course of a normal workday. Ability to perform repetitive keyboarding activities and operate general office equipment. Ability to communicate verbally, both in person and over the telephone. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Working Conditions: Work is performed in a community mental health center and may include meetings in other DFS or community locations. This position also requires a flexible schedule and capacity for occasional travel both in and out of Alaska.


Other Requirements: Continual proof of a valid Alaska Driver's License, maintain current personal vehicle insurance and registration on personal vehicle(s) used for company business, maintain a violation free driving record for the past year, maintain satisfactory criminal background record and be at least 21 years old due to state licensing requirements.
