Environmental Specialist Jobs

What you will do:

• Perform qualitative and quantitative Air Quality analysis for state DOTs
• Perform highway traffic noise assessments for state DOTs
• Effectively utilize available tools to document project-level compliance with National
• Build traffic noise models in GIS and FHWA’s Traffic Noise Modeling software

Environmental Act (NEPA) laws, regulations, and guidance

• Summarize findings in technical reports and prepare environmental documentation under

the direction of more senior staff

• Assist in the preparation Public Involvement and Outreach materials
• Support and collaborate with the Environmental Planning and Permitting team on other

related duties as necessary
Our preferred candidate will have:

• Experience in the Transportation or Environmental industry preferred
• Ability to independently research, summarize, and disseminate technical information to a

general audience

• Ability to learn and work with GPS hardware, sound meter instrumentation, and mobile
• Ability to work with different types of spatial and non-spatial data
• Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online technology

GIS software for field data collection

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cartography, Computer
• Attention to detail

Science, or related field

• Minimum of one year of professional experience in GIS

Travel: 10% per year
