Job Description

Book Creator is where creativity meets literacy. We are looking for an experienced English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum designer to join us as we establish Book Creator as an expert in literacy, working across teams to hone our unique proposition in supporting student language and literacy learning.

About the ELA Curriculum Lead role


This is a newly created role that will report to the CEO and play a key role in the further development of Book Creator and the resources that we provide to teachers and students to specifically address the challenge of improving literacy. The responsibilities of this role will evolve and change over time as needed, but will include:


  • Thought leadership: Bring an ELA perspective to blog posts, webinars and conferences to establish Book Creator as a leader in language and literacy learning.
  • Partnerships: support sales, marketing and product efforts by developing partnerships, relationships and accreditations with top entities in the literacy space.
  • Creation: be responsible for the creation, curation and commissioning of content that supports language and literacy learning.
  • Envisioning: work closely with our product team to develop new features that support language and literacy learning.
  • Go to market: work with the team to develop sales and marketing materials that speak to Curriculum Leadership and ELA teachers. Join sales and teacher success meetings with curriculum leaders to lend expertise and advise districts on how best to use Book Creator in this curriculum area.


About you


You will have a passion for education and the following experience and skillset:


  • Experience and extensive knowledge of ELA curriculum in a US school district is required, ideally with K-5 experience
  • Instructional design experience with evidence of your unique approach
  • Exceptional writing skills for a diverse audience
  • Experience with a diverse set of digital tools that have measurable impact in the classroom
  • Extensive knowledge of research-based literacy instruction
