The Employee Relations function within Human Resources governs and continually improves a globally consistent approach to the management of disciplinary and employee complaints processes to ensure all employee related incidents are dealt with consistently and transparently, and link to compensation and promotion processes. ER also identifies and highlights disciplinary themes to senior HR/business management and Compliance to prevent reoccurrence and assist in driving culture change consistent with the Bank’s values and beliefs.
Contingent Worker ER Specialist responsibilities include:
• Conduct internal investigations, in partnership with ER team members and/or Employment Legal, of potential HR policy violations, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
• Participate in advisory groups to review findings and recommend disciplinary action in cases investigated by other functions such as AFCI and Audit
• Provide guidance to HR Business Advisors regarding disciplinary matters including investigations led by HR Business Advisors
• Provide HR policy guidance to managers, employees, and HR Business Advisors
• Assist in calibration of prior cases to determine recommendations regarding any disciplinary outcomes.
• Preparation of investigation reports, recommended discipline and talking points
• Assist in analyzing case outcomes to identify trends and collaborate with HR Business Advisors to recommend proactive measures to remediate identified issues
• Collate data and preparation of quarterly, annual, quality assurance and ad hoc reporting and training presentations as needed
• Participate in regional and global team meetings
• Support ER Team as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
• Expertise in conducting investigations, conflict management, negotiation and influencing
• Strong knowledge of employment law or employment law background
• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to present and deliver training effectively and commercially in an interactive setting
• Highly organized, and able to prioritize and plan/resources accordingly
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast paced, high pressured environment with a sense of urgency and drive for results
• Affinity for establishing relationships and partnering effectively with all levels of the organization professionally and calmly
• Excellent follow through and attention to detail
• Exercises discretion/independent judgment and can make decisions in a timely manner
• Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Powerpoint
