Description:
Risk identification, facilitating corrective actions and tracking of hospital environmental and safety risk reduction programs. Will provide administrative and special project support to ensure regulatory compliance and all hazard readiness. Coordinate hospital emergency preparedness planning, mitigation, response, and recovery. Will assist in special project work, staff education, managing and maintaining equipment and medical supplies for disaster or infrastructure compromises.
Minimum qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required.
- Ability to report LCHD No. 1 during emergency/disaster situations.
- Incident Command System 300, 400, and 700 OSHA 30hr Compliance Course within the last 6 years, preferred.
- FEMA ICS-100 and FEMA ICS-200 or achieved within six (6) months of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in emergency management, homeland security, urban or regional planning, public administration, or related discipline, preferred.
- Framework for Healthcare Emergency Management – CDP, FEMA
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and written.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in safety, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, or administrative role.
- Plan development and project management experience.
- Familiarity with healthcare emergency preparedness, including security, safety, HAZMAT, OSHA, NIMS, HICS, HVA, CMS, and hospital accreditation body related criteria.
Primary job responsibilities:
- Assist Facilities in administrative duties.
- Builds positive relationships with hospital leaders, local, regional, state, and federal response, regulatory and emergency management agencies.
- Supports compliance efforts with hospital regulatory agencies through activities such as environmental compliance rounding, emergency manual audits and hazard vulnerability assessments.
- Rotating emergency medical supply cart stock, as needed.
- Evaluates emergency drills and events creating after action reports with realistic opportunities for improvement.
- Develops, coordinates, and facilitates educational programs for Associates and providers related to safety, security, and preparedness.
- Audits and maintains tracking of safety findings, equipment, and supply inventories.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assists with the design and conducting of exercises, project management and safety rounding.
- Drafts and creates presentations, maintains document files, spreadsheets and manages projects and deadlines.
- Chairs committee for the Environment of Care, Emergency Management, and Security.
- Remains current with regulatory and compliance initiatives in emergency preparedness and safety.
