Job Purpose


To manage the operations of the mar-tech audience engagement infrastructure. Initially it will be an email channel focus, ensuring systems are set up and integrated effectively, as well as ensuring day-to-day functionality to deliver audience engagement campaigns. Further scope to expand channels as systems evolve. This role reports to the Head of Marketing / Senior Head of Marketing.


Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities


The Email and Audience Engagement Product Manager will support marketing technology systems to deliver timely and relevant communications the BBC audience. They will initially focus on setup and delivery of BBC newsletter programs, partnering with internal teams and external agencies. Longer term they will support and plan development of multi-channel, automated, personalized marketing systems.


Role Responsibility


  • Partner with 3rd party agencies to manage setup and ongoing deployment of campaigns
  • Integrate campaign tracking with 3rd party analytics and visualization systems
  • Troubleshoot mar-tech challenges and problem solve
  • Monitor data integrations and ensure data quality
  • Understand audience engagement goals from across the organization and feed into product roadmap
  • Provide strategic recommendations for audience engagement utilizing current and future marketing technology systems
  • Liaise with external agencies and vendors for platform setup and ongoing processes and deployment
  • Develop multi-channel deployment capabilities across web, app and mobile
  • Oversee and administer email marketing cloud platform for deployment of email newsletters
  • Maintain data retention policy within applicable systems
  • Monitor email deliverability and work with partners to ensure inbox placement.
  • Liaise with marketing technology vendors to manage platforms and roadmaps
  • Implement A/B testing programs for email channel
  • Build consumer journeys using triggers and automation

  • Ability to use excellent communications skills (both oral and written) to understand and source information and to build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and platform users.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities and a thorough understanding of touch-points throughout the audience lifecycle.
  • Self-starter with a natural inclination for building new products
  • Knowledge of APIs, Deliverability Processes, Database Queries and Can Spam preferred


Professional Experience


  • Proven success in implementing and testing CRM processes at scale.
  • Strong experience with marketing automations & business intelligence tools and software; Experience with Salesforce marketing cloud, and CRM systems preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in B2C marketing technology and CRM
  • Experience managing vendors and agencies


Strong Understanding Of The Following


  • Digital marketing landscape (including social)
  • Campaign performance KPIs and reporting
  • News and/or media industry and consumer engagement


Compensation


The anticipated annnual base salary for this position is $100,000-$115,000 dependent on experience & market conditions. This range is not inclusive of a comprehensive bonus, flexible, hybrid working schedule and comprehensive benefits package including but not limited to: 100% BBCS covered medical and dental insurance for employees and their dependents, vision, competitive 401(k) match, mental health, gym reimbursement, pet insurance, commuter benefits.
