Group 33 is seeking a Senior Technician to support our RF/Microwave prototype integration and testing. The candidate will work in an RF/Microwave laboratory supporting multiple programs to assist the group in fabrication needs. Duties include, but are not limited to, assembly of antennas and microwave components for RF frequencies; electronic assembly and wiring from schematics; assembly, test and troubleshooting microwave circuits utilizing the use of electronic test equipment, antenna components, and RF coaxial components; mechanical assembly from drawings and interfacing with machinist and fabrication personnel; occasional antenna tower climbing; some light to moderate lifting of chassis and equipment with a maximum of 50 pounds; and work under non-laboratory conditions both locally and a field sites (i.e. outdoor work). The position will require some travel for testing activities, typically but not limited to the continental US. Will assist in laboratory, research, or analytical work under direction or supervision of scientific personnel. Operates highly technical experimental apparatus. May direct and train technicians of lower grade. Understands the theoretical aspects of the experiments. Has demonstrated outstanding skill and performance in the field of activity. Requires little or no supervision.
Requirements:
- Desired experience using test equipment such as RF network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and RF power meters
- This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidate should be well organized, detail oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Graduation from a two year technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of five years of experience.
- Must have good “hands-on” skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a solid work ethic.
- Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skill.
