Job Description

What You’ll Do
  • Install, terminates, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical equipment, components and raceway utilizing technical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Lead new installation inspection prior to equipment start-up and ensure installation meets National Electrical Code, state and local building code, and Tesla standards
  • Produce as-built drawings markups for delivery to the design team for Record drawing preparation
  • Maintain and ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and components
  • Provide in-service training to maintenance staff
  • Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
  • Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment
  • Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
  • Using lifts and ladders
  • Support commissioning engineer throughout project life cycle (pre-design, design, construction, and start-up phase) to ensure electrical system functions in accordance with the design intent and Plant Operation requirement
  • Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematic, and blueprints
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner and provides feedback
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to make recommendations to supervisors for necessary maintenance of facilities
  • Ability to estimate time and materials needed for projects
  • Ability to pull wires and cable through conduits and splices wires and joints by twisting and soldering or using terminal caps
  • Completion of electrician apprenticeship program
  • Working knowledge in using IR scanning
  • 3-5 years of experience as a hands-on technician or related field working on electrical equipment and material installation
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • In-depth knowledge in Lock-out-tag-out and isolating electrical hazard
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet time schedules in performing maintenance and repairs
  • Working knowledge in using hand tools, multi-meters, and testing equipment
  • Ability to see color to discern color-coded wiring
  • Ability to perform skilled termination and torquing
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, schematics and single line diagram
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480VAC
  • Experience in electrical equipment switching (switchgear, switchboard, panelboard) is plus
  • Ability to identify and remedy occupational hazards
  • Ability to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit
  • Experience in electrical equipment preventive maintenance is plus
  • Working knowledge in electrical wire tracer
  • Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people
