Electrical Engineer / Recent Grads

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for creating new systems, designs, and components that build the future at ECRE. These systems will ensure personnel safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Oftentimes, this work will take the Engineer beyond the realm of what they know to learn new technologies, methods, and products. The Electrical Engineer must be eager and willing to learn new components, approaches, and fields. Innovation never happens in a vacuum, so the Electrical Engineer must be comfortable working with end users, company leadership, and contractors. The Electrical Engineer will provide services in the following areas.

• Lead Technical SPA team member for new capital projects associated with powerplants that involves review/comment/development of technical scope, design review, and commissioning support
• Perform technical lead duties for electrical installations associated with capital projects
• Perform technical lead duties for smaller expense projects for repairs/replacements which also includes installation crew supervision

• Design/programming of generation/transmission/distribution PLC control systems. Responsible for power system metering and relaying, and support of central control center.
• Troubleshoot/repair of communications systems including telephone, fiber optics systems, radio systems, and any satellite communications systems.
• Design/troubleshooting/repair of electrical and mechanical systems associated with hydroelectric generators, transmission lines, medium voltage distribution lines and switchgear, and low voltage switchgear and in-plant wiring systems
• Specify, design, and purchase of electrical equipment systems needed for in-house projects
• Troubleshoot computer/PLC control systems

• Ensure resource availability and allocation
• Coordinate internal resources as well as third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects
• Develop project plans to be shared with management and other staff members
• Develop the project plan to monitor and track progress (set milestones)
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs

• Provide 24 X 7 on-call rapid response support for outages, equipment failures, and other issues affecting operations of Yadkin generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Responsible to lead and manage the electrical safety program and understanding and implementation of all required EHS programs at Yadkin.

• Recent, or soon to be recent Electrical Engineering graduates.
• Electrical engineering candidates with study in power system (power generation, transmission, and control).
