Drug Discovery Scientist Jobs

We have been engaged to find a Drug Discovery Scientist with hands-on experience in drug discovery and pre-clinical translational research to join a New York based research team. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that affords the opportunity to help shape the drug discovery programs.

Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record of achievement in pre-clinical translational science. Relevant areas of experience include leadership of pre-clinical drug discovery programs, design of in vitro assays as well as in vivo disease models, and formulation of translational plans.

Drug Discovery Scientist overview :

• Overseeing experimental work with CRO partners from the design and implementation of functional cell assays to in vivo testing
• Working collaboratively with a team of computational scientists and consultants on target evaluation, selection, and translational strategy
• Providing strategic advice regarding new drug discovery opportunities across therapeutic areas

Drug Discovery Scientist qualifications include :

• Track record of scientific accomplishments and record of success and impact in drug discovery
• People management experience preferred, but not required
• 7 to 10 years of research experience in drug discovery programs
• Computational and translational research is highly desirable
• Design of in vitro assays and in vivo disease models, including animal models
• Formulation and execution of pre-clinical translational plans
• Ph.D. in biologic sciences, molecular cell biology, protein chemistry, or similar
• Leadership of pre-clinical drug discovery programs
