Your New Role…

The Associate Producer for “King Charles” plays a big and active role in developing, launching, and programming this highly anticipated show hosted by Gayle King and Charles Barkley. This person must be highly creative and curious, with a great appreciation for the zeitgeist and popular culture, while also having outstanding news judgement. You’ll be working with a small team, embedded within a larger team, charged with planning and producing one hour of live and interactive television each week. There’s not a show like this out there – this person will help create something unique and special.

Your Role Accountabilities…

The Associate Producer will play an active role in helping the Senior Producer, Editorial Producer, Producer and others develop and launch this new show. This is a highly collaborative role that involves generating creative ideas for each week’s program, gathering and creating elements for segments, suggesting show bookings, and all sorts of other production work at the direction of the show staff. A successful candidate must be a self starter who needs minimal direction and supervision, but can also assimilate quickly into a new culture and play really well with others.

Must be flexible and able to regularly work long hours.

A positive, “can do,” attitude is essential.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • 3+ years of news production or related experience
  • Outstanding judgment, critical and strategic thinking, organization skills, and an ability to be persistent yet diplomatic
  • Strong writing and production skills
  • Control room experience required
  • Insatiable curiosity coupled with a love of hard news and pop culture
  • Collaborative personality with an aptitude for working under pressure
  • Cool, calm, and always collected
  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.

The Legal Bits…

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $48,300.00 - $89,700.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
