Job Description
Every great story has a new beginning, and yours starts here.

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery… the stuff dreams are made of.

Who We Are…

When we say, “the stuff dreams are made of,” we’re not just referring to the world of wizards, dragons and superheroes, or even to the wonders of Planet Earth. Behind WBD’s vast portfolio of iconic content and beloved brands, are the storytellers bringing our characters to life, the creators bringing them to your living rooms and the dreamers creating what’s next…

From brilliant creatives, to technology trailblazers, across the globe, WBD offers career defining opportunities, thoughtfully curated benefits, and the tools to explore and grow into your best selves. Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.

Your New Role…

The Producer for “King Charles” plays a big and active role in developing, launching, and programming this highly anticipated show hosted by Gayle King and Charles Barkley. This person must be highly creative and curious, with a great appreciation for the zeitgeist and popular culture, while also having outstanding news judgement. You’ll be working with a small team, embedded within a larger team, charged with planning and producing one hour of live and interactive television each week. There’s not a show like this out there – this person will help create something unique and special.

Your Role Accountabilities…

The Producer will play an active role in helping the Senior Producer and others develop and launch this new show. This is a highly collaborative role that involves generating creative ideas for each week’s program, conceiving and producing segments, suggesting show bookings, line producing the show if needed and all sorts of other production work at the direction of the Senior Producer. A successful candidate must be a self starter who needs minimal direction and supervision, but can also assimilate quickly into a new culture and play really well with others.

Must be flexible and able to regularly work long hours.

A positive, “can do,” attitude is essential.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Insatiable curiosity coupled with a love of hard news and pop culture
  • Control room experience required
  • 6+ years of news production or related experience
  • Outstanding judgment, critical and strategic thinking, organization skills, and an ability to be persistent yet diplomatic
  • Cool, calm, and always collected
  • Strong writing and production skills
  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Collaborative personality with an aptitude for working under pressure
  • Track record of success working with high profile talent

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.

The Legal Bits…

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $94,500.00 - $175,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
