This Senior Document Control Manager will be the primary administrator for the PLM/PDM system. This role defines and leads the document control department, develops processes, and maintains the system as a reliable single source of truth for company IP. Support and training for our global R&D and CM locations. This includes document oversight supporting the following areas: part number creation, nomenclature enforcement, BOM structure, lifecycle status, document workflows, ECO processes, approval flows, and producing metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Drives cross-functional alignment, ensuring partnerships are built and maintained with internal and external groups. Supports and drives high quality throughput via efficient, effective, and enforced document control methodologies. Additional activities will include the creation and management of KPI’s and other metrics which will need to be reported on a regular basis. This individual will need to work cross-functionally with other team members, will need to manage changes in priorities and execute plans in a high-tech, highly energized, team-oriented environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Measure and continuously improve document control processes ensuring that performance and quality conform to standards and internal requirements.
  • May be involved in collecting data for product quotation, regulatory agency interactions and site inspections.
  • Provide document control as a service to other groups.
  • Establish departmental goals aligned with the business and organizational goals.
  • Ensure an effective conduit and single source of truth between R&D, Operations, and contract manufacturers.
  • Gain agreement within cross functional teams; write and release policies/procedures (e.g naming conventions, ECO process, approval matrices)
  • Report status of process performance and ensure on-time and accurate metrics for presentation; includes weekly operations, ECO ageing, ECO levels by product and date.
  • Develop and facilitate the ECO process including coordination with suppliers.
  • Work with PLM supplier to resolve technical issues and enhance capabilities.
  • Ensure timely prioritization of work and projects.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on system use and standards.
  • Enforce standards for part numbering, part information, BOM structure, and documentation completeness.
  • Administer and monitor access and licenses for both internal and internal and external users.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient in use and administration of Empower, Arena, Agile, or similar PLM/PDM systems.
  • Ability to produce reports to measure and drive improvement in R&D, Operations, and Document Control processes.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Direct experiencing implementing and administrating Arena PLM/PDM system.
  • Strong sense of customer service and drive to improve processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience managing Document Control for complex electromechanical products and working with global/cross-functional internal and external teams.
  • Build productive working relationships across a diverse spectrum of people.
  • Ability to train others on PLM system use and standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledgeable in industry practices and systems
  • Ability to be hands-on in daily use of the PLM system.
  • Direct experience with SAP ERP system
  • Ability to write and create Document Control SOPs and work Instructions.
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $111,000.00 - $194,000.00. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
