Our client is seeking a Business Lead/Division Head who formerly was a VP of Merchandising/ Product and is ready to run a division and take on a broader scope of responsibility while managing the day-to-day of this apparel business. The role is hybrid based in NYC, and the right candidate should be based in close proximity to come into the office several days a week. The salary range for this role is $250-300,000 BOE.
Responsibilities:
- Understand market trends that maximize the commercial power of individual products and the overall assortment
- Demonstrate knowledgeable in digital marketing, apparel merchandising, direct-to-consumer, and wholesale channels
- Supervise a team of 7-9 depending on the season plus external partners
- Hold P&L responsibility
- Participate in all key meetings with retail partners
- Be a strategic thinker and goal achiever
- Oversee all day-to-day operations of the brand
- Confidently present to, influence, and collaborate with senior leadership teams
- Serve as the merchandising and marketing lead, while mentoring
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of global apparel experience in Merchandising, Product, or Marketing with an industry brand
- Multi-channel distribution experience
- Ability to lead and scale DTC brands; multi-channel distribution experience
- Results driven manager with strong sales and profit analytical skills
- Strategic thinker with a proven track record of growing and building brands
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience managing and being accountable for a business unit P&L
- A demonstrated ability to find solutions to difficult or complex issues and anticipate consequences
- Bachelor's degree; MBA is a plus
