About the Role:
As my client rapidly expands into North America and prepares to launch in Ulta stores, they are seeking a Director of US Marketing to guide their brand's growth trajectory.
This role will be instrumental in their crystallizing a strong brand message highlighting their unique differentiators, leading digital transformation, overseeing e-commerce innovation and strategy, managing digital creative and content, and steering our omnichannel CRM strategy.
The right candidate will have a digitally driven and CRM-centric approach, focusing on data capture and retention, and ensuring a personalized consumer experience.
The role requires expertise in multi-cultural marketing, understanding mainstream as well as specific trends in the black community and other minority communities.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a beautiful indie skin care brand and help shape its future in the North American market.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Black Beauty Brand Messaging, Multicultural Strategy and Management: Manage brand voice, digital creative and content packages with an Acquisition-centric approach to ensure greater data capture and/or retention. Lead the development of brand applications from proprietary technologies.
- E-Commerce and CRM: Oversee eCommerce innovation and strategy development. Manage the strategy and roll out of global omnichannel CRM, acquisition/loyalty, and personalization efforts across digital vehicles.
- Retail Marketing : Develop and manage the key retail relationships to ensure alignment on calendar, campaigns, and assets, in order to elevate the customer experience and increase revenue.
- Multi-Cultural Marketing: Utilize experience in marketing to diverse audiences, SPECIFICALLY the mainstream black community, and other minority communities. Implement programs that personalize the consumer experience with key retailers and accelerate online sales growth.
- Collaboration and Team Management: Partner with cross-functional leads, Integrated Communications Director, and others to align strategies. Develop and manage a team, ensuring their growth and productivity.
- Market and Trend Analysis: Continuously monitor and track new consumer behavior, competitive and market trends, and provide recommendations to test and learn.
- Budget and Resources: Manage the marketing budget and ensure initiatives are delivered within budget and revenue targets.
- Commitment to Representation: Reflect the brand's commitment to diversity in all marketing efforts.
- Other Responsibilities: Lead incubator model for new retail and digital commerce strategies, responsible for market start-up toolkits, and more.
Job Qualifications:
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in the beauty industry and a deep understanding of the US market, including the black beauty market.
- Extensive experience creating marketing programs for the BLACK FEMALE CONSUMER in major beauty retailers like ULTA or SEPHORA
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- Strong understanding of customer acquisition, CRM, loyalty programs, and data capture/retention.
- Expertise in overseeing e-commerce innovation and strategy development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of marketing experience, with a focus on digital marketing, e-commerce, and multi-cultural marketing.
- Ability to develop and manage a team.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret consumer behavior and market trends.
