Job Description

The Director, Talent Management & Development, partners with the CPO, HR Team, members of management and employees across the organization to shape and drive MHC’s talent strategy. Leads the design and execution of core talent practices for MHC focusing on – talent acquisition, training and development, program management, performance management, talent reviews and succession planning, career frameworks, and talent assessments. Responsible for the development of strategies that attract, acquire, retain, and develop top talent, driving employee high performance through best practices in retention and engagement.


Position Responsibility

  • Talent Acquisition – oversees full-cycle recruitment, orientation, and onboarding programs for employees across MHC. Directs the talent assessment process and ongoing development of managers in the ability to assess, acquire, and develop talent. Conducts search process for higher level and hard-to-fill positions.
  • Retention and Engagement – using research and best practices, executes programs, processes and culture initiatives geared toward creating a high-performing, engaged workforce. Works with management across the organization to drive down employee turnover and improve the employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership – Lead, coach and develop team members in support of individual, department and company goals.
  • Performance Management - work directly with all levels of leadership to ensure performance management and development are aligned with organizational strategic objectives. Incorporates performance philosophy into the newly acquired Talent Management System. Effectively utilizes the Talent Management system to manage all aspects of performance management and development.
  • Training and Development – partners with the People Operations Managers, Directors, and others within and outside of MHC to develop training and development opportunities. Provides leadership coaching, support, and development to all levels of management. Oversees a catalog of offerings including onboarding, leadership development, assessments, technical training, etc. utilizing both internal and external delivery platforms that align with the operations of the business.
  • Talent Program Management – Sets the strategic vision and roadmap for critical Talent Programs: Management Trainee, Apprenticeships, and Front-line Leaders. Assesses and builds leadership depth, pipeline, and capability by collaborating with key stakeholders to assess, develop and execute the learning and development programs that strengthen the skill base of existing and future leaders, enhancing MHC’s talent pipeline.


Qualifications

  • Proven change management skills/experience.
  • Hands-on leader, who holds a strategic viewpoint, while working on and leading the day-to-day.
  • Must hold the highest level of ethical behavior and be committed to maintaining the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct management experience.
  • Ability to readily adapt and change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Experience with Avature Talent Management System is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cutting-edge sourcing strategies and experience building programs to meet the needs of hard-to-fill positions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent skill level with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, reprioritize work and deliver results in a timely manner while navigating a complex, fast-paced setting.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Self-directed, ability to work independently.
  • Experience in designing and executing new programs and initiatives, as well as driving process improvement for existing processes and programs.
  • Ability to implement organizational strategies and cultivate strong alignments.
  • Experience managing end-to-end talent acquisition in a fast-paced, high-volume recruitment environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing core talent management practices
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in increasingly responsible HR generalist roles with an emphasis on talent acquisition and talent management.
