Job Summary


Reporting to the CEO, the Director, of Special Projects is a force-multiplier for Thrive by leading multiple ad hoc special projects. While he/she will wear many hats, their core responsibility lies in the definition and execution of strategic operational projects. He/she will work in partnership with the CEO /COO and other members of the Executive Leadership Team to solve key business problems by leveraging their ability to extract insights from data and analytics. They will also problem-solve to provide solutions for current and future business gaps, manage projects in support of strategic priorities; partner cross-functionally to define the right questions, and assess the impact on the enterprise.


Responsibilities


Lead Enterprise Projects


  • Support CEO and ELT in preparation of Board decks and Board communication.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the successful and timely execution of key priorities and pilots.
  • Gather input from diverse sources to provide independent and objective feedback on various company initiatives.
  • Support Ad hoc special department-led projects as needed.
  • Lead and support enterprise initiatives by directly scoping, planning, and executing key projects.
Oversee Performance Objectives


  • Respond to the CEO for urgent and timely requests for performance information, technical briefings, and analysis.
  • Review of company business lines or owned businesses to determine optimal growth strategies.
  • Manage performance management tools to track performance and opportunities and partner with department leads to achieve agreed-upon performance objectives.
  • Examples include building analytical tools to support field high-priority projects and conducting competitor analyses as input to company strategy.


Perform high-impact data analysis and modeling


  • Leverage data, analytics, and external benchmarking to challenge the status quo.
  • Partner with the Finance team to complete high-impact analyses and review various levers to drive improved company and field performance.
  • Conduct sophisticated and high-impact analysis to make recommendations to the CEO and stakeholders in the business.
  • Synthesize various reports and data sources to provide input and insights to C-Suite leaders.

Key Qualifications For Success In This Role

  • High level of communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, coupled with the ability to build relationships, influence, drive execution of organizational priorities, and always maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Advanced organization and planning skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, balance competing priorities, and work with little direction.
  • Validate analytical conclusions together with senior management and provide key strategic analysis and insights on various data.
  • Knowledge of strategy, planning, and finance.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time and work nontraditional hours as needed. Details to be discussed.
  • Exceptional project management and change management skills with a detailed analytical mindset Demonstrated results in project/process implementation and adoption.
  • Conduct internal and external benchmarking and research for key projects, including, but not limited to, investment opportunities, M&A opportunities, technology processes, and overall business improvements.
  • Comfortable driving multiple, disparate initiatives at once and adapting as priorities shift.
  • Support projects, communication plans, and continuous improvement initiatives to positively affect business advancement, ensuring department milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budgets. Proficient with MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint, Smartsheets, various industry PIMs, and Workday
  • Develop the appropriate tools and measurement systems to drive the adoption of operational strategy.
  • Track Implementation success metrics and present dashboards to monitor implementation status.
  • Proactively seek out challenges and potential derailers of projects and works to resolve them quickly & efficiently before escalation is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required, MBA preferred.
