FORTNA partners with the world’s leading brands to transform omnichannel and parcel distribution operations. Known world-wide for enabling companies to keep pace with digital disruption and growth objectives, we design and deliver solutions, powered by intelligent software, to optimize fast, accurate and cost-effective order fulfillment and last mile delivery. Our people, innovative approach and proprietary algorithms and tools ensure optimal operations design and material and information flow. We deliver exceptional value every day to our customers with comprehensive services and products including network strategy, distribution center operational design and implementation, material handling automated equipment, robotics and a comprehensive suite of lifecycle services.
The Director Product Management – WES(Strategy) is the strategic leader of the Warehouse Execution System (WES) software product vision for the company. This visionary’s primary focus is to craft the strategic roadmap for expanding (breadth) the software functionality to open new revenue opportunities for the company as well as strengthen (depth) the current software capabilities that create sticky solutions that excite our customers.
This role is the highest individual contributor in the Product Management department and is expected to build the entire product line for scale and stickiness while acting as the industry and software product subject matter expert in sales, customer, and industry analyst discussions. There is no one else to turn to.
If you have an entrepreneurial mindset that wants to change the way software is designed for the fulfillment center of the future, you are the ideal candidate.
  • Proactively advocate for the needs and success of your product by aligning goals to business strategy
  • Elaborate on the product vision and strategy that differentiates and delivers unique value based on customer demands. This includes defining personas and analyzing market and competitive conditions as well as leading discussions with industry analysts on the differentiators of the product
  • Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders to generate alternatives, evaluate tradeoffs and recommend paths to iteratively deliver value.
  • Generate business process descriptions, use cases, user stories, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis.
  • Travel to client sites for design and review sessions, attend trade shows, and build a customer feedback loop for improving the product
  • Train others on problem solving approaches and design requirement gathering.
  • Gather product requirements, prioritize feature implementations, and improve overall user experience.
  • Support the prioritization of the feature backlog through iteration planning and elaboration of user stories and ensure that the team always has an adequate pipeline of prepared tasks to develop.
  • Build the software vision that supports the fulfillment center of the future (both human and automated workflows)
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success developing and launching excellent software products
  • 5+ years of experience designing customer or product specifications in the supply chain fulfillment industry
  • Must be willing and able to travel approximately 25% – primarily domestic travel, minimal international travel
  • Strong Communication skills with ability to collaborate and consult with technical and non-technical business counterparts
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Manager role experience developing, supporting, or implementing WMS, WES, or WCS software applications; fulfillment automation technology experience is strongly preferred
  • Excellent team working skills and experience (leader, influencer and supporter)
  • Excellent client facing skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial engineering or related technical field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile or SAFe Agile processes
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
