Role And Job Responsibilities


Reporting to the Site Lead of Resilience Alachua the Director of Business Operations, Process and Operations Excellence will be a member of the Site Leadership Team.


The individual will build and lead the Business Operations team to execute key responsibilities and objectives across the Resilience Alachua manufacturing facility.


This role will lead the Program Management Office (PMO) for the Resilience Alachua . The PMO will coordinate the execution of projects in collaboration with project managers across all site functions (MSAT, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering), the Tech Ops Leadership Team and other Resilience manufacturing sites.


The individual will lead the development of key business processes and strategies to support the entire site and interfaces with the Technical Operations organization. S/he will utilize techniques and methodologies to establish, analyze, harmonize, and improve business processes within site and the wider organization.


The individual will be responsible for the leadership of the Operations Excellence (OE) program for the site. The role will develop and oversee strategic OE initiatives that drive continuous improvement and lean methodologies across the manufacturing site while ensuring alignment with OE efforts throughout the network.


S/he will be responsible for Operational Reviews including consolidation and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvements in operational performance. S/he will ensure alignment of reporting out of the site to support network initiatives.


Qualifications


  • Experience with implementing lean manufacturing principles and six sigma process improvements
  • Excellent program and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build business relationships and influence in a matrix organization
  • Very strong and highly effective strategic thinker and problem solver with high degree of emotional intelligence, with the ability to both recognize and anticipate problems
  • Experience interpreting and implementing supply agreements, technical services and related contracts
  • Experience facilitating process optimization and process change initiatives in a cross-functional setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate solutions into viable action plans at a network level that are effectively disseminated and implemented through cooperation of stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, with an ability to interact at all levels of an organization
  • Experience working cross-functionally and cross-culturally in the development of business processes and/or systems, especially as they impact and influence multiple departments and levels of management.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading teams and developing people
  • Proactive self-starter with confidence and ability to identify new areas for continuous improvement, bring stakeholders together and develop and execute plans that drive positive change.


Preferred Experience


  • 10+ years experience in BioPharma/Pharma and cGMP manufacturing
  • 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, MSAT, Project Management or related disciplines and previous experience in strategy building for a Technical Operations organization
  • Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences/Engineering/Business, required. Advanced degree preferred.


This job requires exposure to the following:


  • Conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Narrow aisles or passageways.
  • Hazards: packaging, shipping, handling, or decontamination of blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM), including continuous human cell lines.
  • Hazards: packaging, shipping, handling, or decontamination of infectious agents assigned to risk group 3, including for emergency response.
  • Close quarters and small enclosed rooms.
  • Noise (enough noise to cause the employee to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.)
  • Laboratories, production rooms, waste holding areas, or other facilities where infectious agents are or may be handled or stored.
  • Hazards: packaging, shipping, handling, or decontamination of infectious agents assigned to risk group 2, including for emergency response.
  • Hazards: moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals).


This job requires the employee to perform the following type of physical work:


  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the employee sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.


This job requires the following visual acuity requirements:


  • Determines the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • Preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.


This job requires routine or periodic use of respiratory protection:


  • Loose-fitting respirators, such as hood or helmet style Personal Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR).

Our target annualized base pay hiring range for this position is $155,000.00 - $207,500.00. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
