Conference Volunteer - Youth In Government/Model Un

Summary: Consistent with the mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and the Center for Civic Engagement, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, the CCE Conference Volunteer will help provide students with positive conference experiences that enrich their lives. Volunteers will join us in organizing conference logistics and managing students at the conference.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand and support the volunteer programs, goals, and objectives of the YMCA as a community organization.
• Perform additional enumerated responsibilities of a specific volunteer role.
• Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
• Ensure that communication with members, staff, and the public is friendly and professional.
• Refrain from personal interactions with delegates after conference curfew.
• Be familiar with, comply with, and enforce the YMCA Center for Civic Engagement Delegate Code of Conduct.
• Arrive on time for volunteer assignment and be flexible if needs change for volunteer assignment.
• Keep all interactions with students, advisors, and other conference staff professional and Y-appropriate.
• Be available for the conference for the entirety of the conference, unless there is a pre-approved conflict.
• Attend all conference functions, and conform to the given schedule unless otherwise specified.
• Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and appropriate manner.
• Refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco products, or any other illegal substances during the conference.

• Minimum 18 years of age and high school graduate

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• This position requires and individual with an enthusiastic personality who can develop harmonious relationships with staff and students. Volunteers at the CCE make a personal commitment to this vision by welcoming people of all backgrounds and dimensions of diversity.
