Activity/Volunteer Coordinator Jobs

Hours: 8am – 4:30pm (Monday – Friday, Full-Time)

The Activity/Volunteer Coordinator will plan and coordinate programs and activities to provide life-enriching events for residents and the community. A qualified candidate will be excited about strengthening the dynamics of The Gary Residence by planning, promoting, and conducting activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop a monthly activity calendar
• Plan and implement activities in the following categories: physical (exercise), social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, religious, service/volunteer and special requests of the residents.
• Facilitate socialization among residents
• Promote activities in a way that piques residents’ interest
• Take residents out of the facility for scheduled outings
• Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities
• Conduct/lead activities
• Develop a monthly newsletter
• Carry out all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Mature, pleasant, friendly & cheerful personality
• A willingness to work as a team player is essential for this role.
• Clean background check & driving record
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Experience in activity planning and working with older adults is preferred
• Evidence of creativity
• Proficient with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
