Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partnerships: Collaborate with schools, districts, and educational organizations to gather insights and feedback, fostering strategic partnerships.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a dynamic team of developers, designers, and specialists dedicated to the special education technology initiative.
  • Lead Strategy: Define the technology roadmap for our special education offerings, aligning with HeyTutor’s vision and goals.
  • User-Centric Design: Champion a user-centered approach, ensuring the technology is intuitive, accessible, and caters to the needs of educators, parents, and students.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop user-friendly software solutions for managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Individualized Family Services Plans (IFSPs), Section 504 plans, Individual Transition Plans (ITPs), and Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Compliance and Efficiency: Ensure the technology platform adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, enhancing the efficiency of educators’ and administrators’ workflow.


Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Passion: A deep commitment to improving education for students with special needs .
  • Education: A background in special education, education technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills in building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Visionary Thinking: Ability to foresee trends in education technology and develop strategies that drive innovation.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in educational technology, software development, or related fields, with a proven track record of leading successful product development.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
