Position Overview:


Kendra Scott is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Director of Site Merchandising & Optimization to join our dynamic team. As the Director of Site Merchandising & Optimization, you will play a critical role in driving our online sales growth and optimizing the customer experience on our e-commerce platform. You will be responsible for leading a team of merchandisers, developing, and executing strategic merchandising plans, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. The ideal candidate will be well versed within the fashion category and possess a strong understanding of P&L management, exceptional analytical skills, a deep passion of delivering experiential commerce with a customer first mindset and bringing the Kendra Scott brand to life on the website.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Revenue Growth:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Inventory Planning, and Creative, to align merchandising strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Analyze sales data, customer insights, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and optimize the product assortment.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to drive online sales and achieve revenue targets driving higher conversion and AOV.
  1. Strategic Merchandising Planning:
  • Deliver an optimal customer experience by implementing a site personalization strategy including but not limited to intelligent product recommendations, geo targeted content strategy etc. to drive sales.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and identify potential market gaps.
  • Define and execute a comprehensive merchandising strategy that aligns with brand positioning and customer preferences.
  • Partner with agency to implement the SEO best practices increasing organic revenues.
  1. Website Merchandising Optimization:
  • Optimize product placements, categorization, and navigation to maximize conversions and increase average order value through upsell and cross sell.
  • Utilize analytics and user feedback to continually improve site merchandising strategies and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the visual merchandising of our e-commerce platform, ensuring an intuitive and seamless customer experience.

Prepare and execute online promotion and content calendar for each season/product launch in strong collaboration with the omnichannel merchandising and allocation team

  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance merchandising skills and knowledge within the team.
  • Lead and inspire a team of site merchandisers, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting growth and development opportunities for team members.
  1. P&L Management:
  • Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, including gross margin, sales conversion, and return on investment, to ensure profitability.
  • Work closely with finance and operations teams to develop and manage the site merchandising budget effectively.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership, highlighting performance and recommending strategies for improvement.


Professional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in utilizing web analytics tools and platforms to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current fashion/retail trends
  • Deep understanding of P&L management, financial analysis, and budget planning.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong track record of delivering sales targets and driving revenue growth in an e-commerce environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team; Prior management experience required
  • Proven experience in strategic merchandising planning, including product assortment and inventory management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in e-commerce merchandising, preferably in the retail or fashion industry.

Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns. Knowledge of Analytics tools like GA, heatmap tools like ContentSquare and testing & personalization tools like Certona is preferred.

  • Demonstrated desire and ability to work effectively at both the strategic and tactical execution levels
  • Proven experience with dynamic site merchandising software. SFCC or SFRA preferred
