Job Description

Salary range = Up to $80,000 + monthly bonus


Relocation may be considered.


Director of Sales Responsibilities:

· Identify and develop new group business for the Corporate and Leisure markets

· Introduce new clients to the property via outside sales calls, cold call solicitation, networking, and site inspections

· Negotiate locally negotiated rates and group bookings with rooms and meeting space

· Penetrate market segmentation through cold call solicitation, e-marketing campaign blasts, site inspections, trade shows, conferences, and market segment events

· Assist in developing and reviewing monthly and yearly sales plans

· Participate in weekly sales meetings, marketing strategy conference calls, and sales blitzes

· Meet and/or exceed sales revenue goals, while routinely increasing market share

· Cultivate strong relationships with local and global corporate and group clients

· Show enthusiasm as a team player by engaging with other hotel associates and attending property events

· Assume responsibility for planning and coordinating all aspects of group meetings when needed

· Communicate contract and meeting details for locally negotiated rates and group events to hotel staff

· Actively participate in other Sales/Catering duties after contracting, such as setting up group master accounts, group rates, and locally negotiated rates in PMS system, assisting with reservations, some detailing of groups, group resumes/BEOs, and client billing

· Track sales activity and productivity in the Sales and Catering system

Director of Sales must possess:

  • A successful, progressive, work history
  • A minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience with 1 year as a Director of Sales in a full service hotel
