About the Role:

The Director of Sales, Home Center provides leadership, direction, and focus to achieve Kichler goals and objectives with Lowe’s & THD. This role handles the complete Lowe’s and THD business, works to improve OI and other related expenses via cross functional support for Lowe’s and for the entire retail segment. The role leads & advises strategic agility by anticipating future consequences and trends accurately, has a broad perspective and is future oriented. This leader will tackle special assignments/projects as assigned from the leadership staff.

The scope of this role is to lead the Lowe’s/THD accounts with an eye on both top line and bottom-line performance. This individual must relate to all management layers while understanding the culture of these meaningful customers. The ideal candidate will need a strong understanding of Lowe’s and THD internal processes and understand how to communicate/train and make an impact across the company.

Strong analytical skills are required to understand and deliver metrics of the business to both Kichler and Home Center Customers. These skills include forecasting proficiency, operational / logistics understanding, price and product placement understanding in the retail segment, and consumer and market behaviors as they relate to Big Box retail. In order to perform the duties of this position, this role needs to thrive in a matrixed environment and effectively cope with change and effectively lead others through change and processes. Have a good understanding of strong brands and what they can bring to the marketplace/customer.

  • Sales/Service Management and Integration: Lead, develop and manage an internal sales structure to collaborate with Lowe’s/THD service/execution organization. Develop goals & lead plans through leadership & execution with Retail Channel Marketing team
  • Masco Coordination: Be the key point of contact with Masco Corporate and other operating companies to integrate Lowe’s/THD plans where appropriate.
  • Long Range Planning & Budgeting: Accountable for the development, management and monitoring of plans and budgets. This includes brand strategies, product and service initiatives, distribution/logistics & initiatives, in-store service, promotional strategies and other marketing initiatives, and profit improvement initiatives. Enables to build breakthrough strategies and plans.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Develop and lead a cross-functional team. Work with those Masco operating companies working directly with Kichler. Work with other departments to ensure resources are aligned to support the business, as well as fulfilling essential functions related to Lowe’s/THD business (e.g., forecasting, sku obsolescence, new product and program introductions, etc.). Through leadership initiate breakthrough projects to drive business strategy (new/existing).
  • Tracking and Reporting: Manage customer specific tracking and reporting and communicate ongoing results to manager and appropriate functions.
  • Policies & Programs: Coordinates development of policies and programs that improve Kichler’s strong position while meeting Kichler financial objectives and guidelines.
  • Home Center Businesses Oversight: Understand Lowe’s/THD corporate direction, often assuming a consultative role

What We Look For In A Candidate:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; (advanced degree preferred, but not required) and 10 or more years of related sales or account management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong home improvement proven experience and knowledge of Lowe’s/THD culture, structure, systems and processes is helpful. Experience leading and motivating a sales team as well as the ability to influence and guide others consistent with business objectives and values are vital for successful execution of position. Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills as well as being a critical thinker with strong financial and analytical ability is required. The individual must feel comfortable in working in a cross-functional, matrix environment and be able to interact at all levels of the organization, both at Kichler and related Home Center Customers. This person must possess a process improvement attitude to find solutions workable for both organizations. Proven track record and understanding on how to run a $100 million or greater business. Proven track record to lead a $1 – 3 million or greater budget effectively. Proven track record to meet or exceed annual sale & unit goals along with annual profit / margin goals. Must be willing to travel approximately 30% of the time. Ideally, this position will be in Mooresville, NC, but depending on experience/proximity this may not be required.

Hiring Range: $130,300.00 - $204,820.00

Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
