Budget Title: Staff Associate (SL-4)
Salary: $30,000 (50% part-time, temporary position)
A Detailed List Of Job Tasks Is Listed Below
As the Director of Recruitment for the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership, the candidate will oversee and implement all aspects of the recruitment plan. This will require, among other duties, the consistent engagement with prospective students while documenting the progression from when students inquire about becoming a student in TLEL to when they have applied for the appropriate program. The candidate in this position will also facilitate and manage the communications and marketing, which includes collaborating with the Office of Communications and Marketing to maintain TLEL Webpage and SLATE Communications.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data on recruitment efforts
  • Meet with juniors and seniors in the pre-teaching track as needed as they begin applying for master's degree programs
  • Participate in CCPA Prospective Students Day, Admitted Students Day, and other recruitment events on and off campus, especially as outlined in recruitment plan
  • Share recruitment plan with CCPA Dean's Office, TLEL faculty and staff
  • Develop and deliver workshops for CCPA's new pre-teaching track for undergraduates
  • Coordinate with Education Minor Steering Committee and Dave Archer to support Education Minor students interested in education master's degree programs
  • Maintain an up-to-date spreadsheet of prospective students and contacts
  • Revise the subsequent year's recruitment plan based on results from current/past year
  • Use data to refine recruitment activities
  • Every summer, provide a report on recruitment plan and outcomes for the previous year to CCPA Dean's Office as well as TLEL faculty and staff
  • Serve as TLEL's representative on the CCPA Enrollment & Recruitment committee
  • Refine and implement annual recruitment plan, with measurable outcomes
  • Meet with prospective students to answer their questions in person, phone, email, or text
  • Collaborate with the appropriate TLEL and Dean's Office staff to create and implement strategic initiatives designed to increase TLEL enrollment, such as the development of new 4+1 programs and articulation agreements with community colleges
Communications & Marketing Duties
  • Collaborate with OGR, Office of Communications and Marketing to maintain TLEL Webpage and SLATE Communications
  • Order department swag and other promotional materials and distribute as appropriate
  • Twitter
  • Oversee, develop, maintain and refine as needed all SLATE communications from TLEL
  • Coordinate updates to Bulletin as required
  • Collaborate with Office of Communications & Marketing (w. A. Borrelli)
  • Facebook
  • Oversee social media accounts and website, including metrics and kudos tracking
  • Develop and maintain new marketing, promotional, and informational materials (with Chair)
  • Instagram
Requirements
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Master's degree in student affairs administration, education, public administration, or closely related field
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills
  • Experience working with diverse populations
Preferred
  • Experience in SLATE and BANNER
  • Experience related to the position, such as recruiting and communications & marketing, is strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in New York State
