- Establishes, implements and maintains robust and effective Quality/Patient Safety and Regulatory Compliance programs, ensuring the hospital maintains accountable vigilance in sustaining a culture of patient safety and ensuring the hospital continuously meets standards established by accreditation and regulatory organizations and agencies;
- Meets accreditation and regulatory standards relating to performance improvement, and patient safety; apprises leadership regarding operational areas needing improvement;Conducts in-depth root cause analysis for adverse events within designated timeframes; develops action plans and follows-up to ensure completion/compliance.
- Maintains files of all events. Trends events to identify hospital wide issues and opportunities;Proactively assesses and identifies risks and implements actions to prevent failures/adverse events.
- Communicates, completes assessment and develops necessary action plans in response to any Regulatory Alerts within designated timeframes;
- Develop, review and revise policies and procedures related to Risk Management;Legal Interface - Work with hospital legal counsel to coordinate the investigation, processing, and defense of claims. Responds to professional liability and hospital liability questions and maintains knowledge of legislative and regulatory activities related to health care risk management;
- Program Administration - Develops, coordinates, and administers hospital wide systems for risk identification, investigation and reduction, maintains statistics, ensure that pertinent patient data relative to a claim is accurate, available, and secure. Reviews and coordinates trend analysis, claims profiles, worker's comp trends, and analysis of risk data. Advises security on loss reduction of property and assets.

- Leadership Responsibilities. Provides effective organizational leadership of the patient safety and regulatory compliance processes;
- Data Management Responsibilities. Creates quality information collection, analysis and reporting systems, methods and processes which maintains clear and reliable data collection and input processes, ease and reliability of accessibility to data, maintenance and management of data reliability and integrity processes, and data reporting in usable, decision-support format;
- Coordinate and integrate QI plans and processes for individual services;Claims management and Incident Reporting - oversight of the event and incident reporting systems, analyzes and responds to reports, compiles summaries of reports, reports potential claims to carriers, review patient/family/physician complaints for liability risk and resolution;
