Title: Director of Manufacturing

Location: Greater New York City Area

A global leader within the Aerospace and Defense industry is seeking out a Director of Manufacturing to join their team and oversee production operations using a sound understanding of design/manufacturing engineering principles to solve complex operational challenges. The Director will be accountable for production output of all OEM and MRO products and services provided to customers; The Director of Manufacturing must have the ability to lead, motivate and communicate with all levels of employees throughout the organization including customers.

The Director of Manufacturing will have the following responsibilities:

• Utilize the ERP system to plan/schedule resources using advanced planning/scheduling tools or reports.
• Ensure implementation of safety and environmental protocols are being adhered to by employees.
• Support the development and implementation of a cost reduction or global manufacturing plans that drive business results.
• Implement operational policies, objectives, and initiatives.
• Ensure planned KPIs such as revenue, gross margin, DPPM and OTD are met or exceeded.
• Achieve world class OTD and quality performance to the customer base.
• Monitors all metrics (financial, operational, etc.) to measure achievements of organization objectives.
• Creates functional strategies and develops budget, policies, and procedures to support infrastructure.
• Act as the liaison between different departments, e.g. Suppliers, Managers, Engineering.
• Participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process until product is production ready by ensuring proper process implementation amongst Manufacturing/Industrialization/Design Engineering.
• Optimizes current and proposed operational procedures to gain efficiencies and minimize risk.
• Monitor the production processes, product standards and advise of schedule adjustments as needed.
• Ensure customer focus with participation in customer meetings and audits.
• Execute operating plans to attain short and long-term financial goals.
• Support the effective production for both OEM and MRO manufacturing operations.

The ideal Director of Manufacturing must have the following qualifications:

• Possess strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical or systems theory and design.
• 5+ years of leadership positions in manufacturing operations and engineering; preferably in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Demonstrated cost management in functional areas such as assembly, manufacturing engineering, materials, etc.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Strong consulting & coaching skills; effective advisor to management and employees across a variety of business areas; able to present complex or new ideas with clarity and simplicity.
• Intermediate MS Office skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.
