Team


Programs/Education – Wolf Connection


Status


Full-time/Exempt


Wolf Connection (a nonprofit 501C-3) is seeking a Director of Programs to oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of our Wolf Therapy® healing and experiential education programs. Wolf Connection programs are rooted in the ancestral bond between wolves and humans, and the power of pack dynamics. This includes on-site, off-site and virtual education and empowerment programs, primarily with youth and including some adult programming. The impact of Wolf Therapy® is demonstrated by participants realizing their resilience, resourcefulness, and relationship to all that surrounds them.


The Director of Programs supports the culture of Wolf Connection in adding value to both the organization's public facing programs as well as a dedicated and ever-growing program team. Because we value every interaction at Wolf Connection, we aim to provide ongoing opportunities for professional training and personal development to all personnel - staff and volunteers - to enhance performance and support the organization's environment and program outcomes.


The Director of Programs is a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, nurturing the development, execution, outcome and quality of every Wolf Connection program.


Strategic


The Director of Programs will:


  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align and integrate program strategies with the overall organizational mission and long range impact goals.
  • Oversee the yearly outreach and implementation plan in alignment with contract deliverables, partner needs and current capacity.
  • Establish performance objectives, monitor progress, and evaluate results.
  • Develop short and long-term program goals as well as the strategic plan and processes to meet identified goals.
  • Contribute innovative vision and direction for Wolf Connection programming and departmental structure and strategy.


Program Development And Management


  • Collaborate effectively with the Pack Services Department to ensure safe and therapeutic interactions between wolves and humans and coordination between departments.
  • Prioritize cultural awareness, understanding of systems of power and oppression and trauma informed practices in developing and implementing curriculum.
  • Oversee management and tracking of program contracts, agreements and deliverables.
  • Oversee program budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure effective utilization of resources.
  • Oversee coordination of program delivery, including schedule and logistics (team staffing, collaboration with other departments, facility needs, as well as meals and materials).
  • Cultivate and secure new service partnerships.
  • Spearhead the overarching program evaluation plan and processes across multiple type and initiative (i.e., onsite programs, virtual program, hybrid programs).
  • Ensure database maintenance which includes participant information as well as program records.
  • Ensure effective management of all legal and liability requirements of programs such as waivers, contracts, insurance, confidentiality, etc.
  • Lead and coordinate curriculum development, updates, and evaluation.


Stakeholder Engagement


  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities and establish strategic alliances.
  • Implement Wolf Therapy® practices and principles to engage partners and stakeholders in the experiential process and impact of our work.
  • Prioritize relationships and professional communication with program partners and funding agencies.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, events, and meetings to promote program initiatives and community relationships.


Team Leadership


  • Ensure that the program team is appropriately trained and resourced to implement state-of-the-art Wolf Therapy healing and experiential education programming.
  • Successfully recruit and retain program team members from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds and skill sets.
  • Invite, engage and celebrate the diverse identities and cultural practices of team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, leveraging diverse talents, and promoting teamwork to achieve shared goals.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to program team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify professional development opportunities for team members.


Reporting And Communication


  • Assist with the development of public relations and communications strategies to support program goals and increase community awareness.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop program-related content for various channels.
  • Prepare and present reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact to senior leadership, board members, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of program updates to internal and external stakeholders.


Qualifications And Skills


  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivity and the ability to navigate and resolve cross-cultural conflicts
  • Possess a high degree of emotional intelligence including self-awareness, empathy, and the ability to self-regulate while responding to the emotions of others
  • Strong understanding of program planning, development, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience supervising healers/educators in training and upholding a high standard of ethics and best practices
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a program implementation and leadership role
  • History of working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and religion
  • Extensive experience empowering youth in a therapeutic or educational setting
  • Track record of building, empowering, and inspiring a high performing team
  • Awareness of implicit biases and a commitment to addressing them in a professional setting
  • Master's degree or equivalent in psychology, education, social work or related field
  • Licensure as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Counselor/Therapist strongly preferred
  • Background in curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation preferred
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and best practices


LOCATION


This position will primarily be on-site with the potential of 1 - 2 at home work days per week. Wolf Connection is located in the Angeles National Forest between Acton and Palmdale, CA.
