Procurement Lead- Offshore Wind Background

Primary Services is seeking a highly detail-oriented candidate to lead a procurement team at the forefront of a renewable energy sector startup within a prestigious global multi-energy company operating in over 130 countries. As the Procurement Lead, you will serve as the primary point of contact for engineers, executives, and the legal team, overseeing an offshore energy project from inception to final completion.

We are in search of a highly experienced Senior Procurement Lead, with a strong background in offshore wind projects. Ideally, the successful candidate will possess at least seven years of proven leadership experience in procurement.

As the Senior Procurement Lead, you will demonstrate expertise in negotiation, possess excellent communication skills, maintain heightened situational awareness, and have extensive experience in procurement procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a procurement team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure effective and efficient operations.
• Monitor and analyze renewable energy market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize the sourcing and purchasing process.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as finance, engineers, operations, and project management teams, to understand and support their procurement needs.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, including pricing, terms, and conditions, to secure favorable agreements with suppliers.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering partnerships to enhance collaboration and achieve mutual business objectives.
• Take ownership of renewable energy projects from procurement to completion, ensuring successful delivery.
• Stay updated on renewable energy industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and other relevant criteria.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all procurement activities.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience with large-scale offshore projects.
• In-depth understanding of legal procurement procedures and terminology.
• Strong negotiation abilities stemming from a confident and proactive self-starter personality.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
• 7-10+ years of extensive experience as a Procurement Lead.
• Ability to effectively manage and cultivate relationships with multiple suppliers concurrently.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a strong track record of ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
• Understanding and experience with CFT (Call for Tender), RFP (Request for Proposal), RTA (Required Time of Arrival), CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), and TBA (Technical Bid Evaluation).
• Experience in the wind energy industry is highly sought after.
• Proficient and highly comfortable with manual-driven processes and spreadsheets.
