Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Location: New Orleans, LA or Orlando, Fl

Position Type: Full-Time; Salaried

Supervises: HR Coordinator

Estimated Travel: 10%


The Opportunity:


Solomon Group is searching for a talented and experienced Director of People and Culture to join our growing team.

Recruit and retain quality people to the organization while ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that may apply. Responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The HR Manager provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to business unit leaders and department heads.


The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five plus (5+) years of human resource experience.


This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana or Orlando, Florida.



RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Operate with a wide degree of latitude and responsibility within the role.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits globally.
  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the firm's mission and strategic vision.
  • Serve as a strategic business advisor to management in each business unit and department regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the firm.
  • Nurture and Uphold Company Culture: Foster and promote the company's vibrant and inclusive culture of collaboration, innovation, and mutual respect. Encourage team members to actively engage in the cultural values of innovation, teamwork, professional growth, inclusivity, passion, work-life balance, and community engagement. Incorporate cultural values into HR practices, programs, and initiatives to maintain a cohesive and motivated team environment.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
  • Collaborate with the firm's executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the firm.
  • Perform other tasks as deemed necessary.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.


BASIC EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in HRIS, Applicant Tracking, and other company systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field.
  • Capable of handling variable volumes of workload in time-sensitive environments and accurately and efficiently completing assigned tasks.
  • Good planning and organizational skills and the ability to be a self-starter.
  • Human Resources Certification(s) preferred - Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); and/or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification.
  • Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines and ensure an accurate product.
  • Willing and able to learn new software as needed.
  • Ability to multitask, effectively manage time, and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with employees of various levels.
